Vicor is a company that cares for the environment and is proud to be sponsoring the ‘Environmental Award’ category at this year’s Elektra 09, the European Electronics Industry Awards. We recognize that large amounts of electrical energy are transformed from one voltage to another by power supplies and firmly believe that by optimizing the efficiency of our products this will minimize wasted power and help provide ways for our customers to reduce the energy consumption of the products that they produce. New Vicor technology such as V.I Chips and V.I Bricks are contributing to further increases in efficiency and are paving the way for a greener footprint for the future.
We aim to encourage others to maximize energy efficiency and to adopt greener policies and this award recognizes how companies’ business strategies are reducing the impact on the environment of their products, manufacturing processes and commercial practices. The judges will be looking for evidence of how good environmental practice has permeated across the company by being inclusive of staff at all levels of the organization.
